Film Noir

On April 20, we’ll watch “Stranger on the Third Floor”.  Many film historians consider it to be the first of the noir genre of films made in America.  Stranger was made in 1949; it stars Peter Lorre.  Lorre also starred in “M”.  M is considered by many to be THE 1st noir, directed by Fritz Lang in Germany in 1931! . . . Lang’s first sound film.  I watched M last night and there’s a lot of noir style in it.  If you haven’t seen it I recommend it, click here for some history
