Neo-realist conventions: the lead actor is a non professional actor (a college Professor who agreed to play the role), the use of studio sets is kept to minimum and the everyday lives of people are examined in minute detail . . . . . if you are interested in seeing one of the best of this era, go to the Palm Theatre in SLO this Sunday for “Umberto D”.
